Prophesying the Miracle through the Eyes of Faith
It is common in the Christian life to feel the need for a miracle. We need miracles in every area of our lives: in the church, in the requests of our families, for our brothers and friends. Every day, we can be expecting a miracle and seeking it through faith.
The Bible presents us with three important elements to achieve the miracle: prophesying, looking through faith, and seeing the miracle with natural eyes. Prophesying, in this context, means proclaiming future things, as written in Isaiah 42:9: "See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being, I announce them to you." We can prophesy from the approval in a school exam to the healing of a serious illness.
Looking through faith means proclaiming what we do not see, but miraculously, it is the truth through faith, as mentioned in Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Therefore, looking through faith is visualizing the healing of a major illness in a family member or visualizing the job of our dreams. It is believing in what is not physically present but can be seen through faith.
Lastly, seeing the miracle with natural eyes involves recognizing the blessings and miracles that happen in our everyday life, as mentioned in Matthew 19:26: "Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" In this verse, Jesus teaches that even in humanly impossible situations, God has the power to perform miracles. Therefore, seeing the miracle with natural eyes means recognizing and witnessing the manifestation of God's power in our daily life. It is seeing Lazarus walking out of the tomb, starting the car and having it work normally, helping someone in need, relying on the provision we have deposited in the bank.
Prophesying the miracle through the eyes of faith leads us to see, even with natural eyes, what Jesus said: "If you can? Everything is possible for one who believes." (Mark 9:23) In this verse, Jesus is responding to a father seeking healing for his son. He declares that for those who have faith, all things are possible. This verse highlights the importance of faith in God and the divine ability to perform miracles in all areas of life. By prophesying, looking through faith, and living with gratitude for the daily miracles, we strengthen our faith and witness the manifestation of God's power in our lives. May we trust in God, wait for His miracles, and declare His word with conviction, for He is faithful to accomplish the impossible in us.
